Visitors' Weeks
For the benefit of the students, classes are generally closed to
viewing except for Visitor  Participation Week.  Two weeks during
the year, one visitor per student will be allowed to come into the
studio during class time.  Other visitors will need to stay at home or
wait in the waiting room during this time.  Visitors will get to
participate in the class with the student.  It is a really fun experience
for everyone!
Christmas Program -Dec. 5
The performance is not mandatory, but is highly recommended as
it gives students more time on stage to get used to an audience
and helps them get ready for recital.  The show, held at South
Middle School, is very informal.   Costuming is very basic.
Students wear their class attire.  We let you borrow some costume
extras.  The kids have a great time!  There will be a sign up sheet
at the counter several weeks before the show.  Please sign up as
early as possible so we can have plenty of time to get costumes
together.  Students must maintain good attendance in order to learn
techniques and the routines for the show.  When programs are
coming up, students should expect to attend the last regular class
and rehearsal (end-of-the-year show) in order to perform.
Recital -June 10
Each dance year culminates in a recital.  The themed-event
features beautiful costumes, professional lighting and sound, and is
always a big hit!  Our show will be held at the Henderson Fine Arts
Center.  More information will be given out in April regarding
t-shirts, tickets, videos, pictures, rehearsals, etc.   We like to order
costumes early to get them in time for any alterations that might be
needed and for pictures.  Costumes must be paid for by Thursday,
January 7, 2010 to get in on the bulk order. Costumes are
expected to cost $55-70 for child sizes and $55-75 for adult sizes.
If you miss the costume deadline, a special order can be made for
an additional $20.00.

Once a student has purchased a costume, it is expected that
he/she will be in the show.  Many times our dances include partner
sections or color blocking with costumes.  To have someone drop
out after the planning has been done, can mess up the whole
routine.  That, of course, is terribly unfair to the others in the class.
Before letting your child drop out of recital, please talk to him/her
about the importance of honoring a commitment.

Two other important recital notes:
1.  Rehearsal is mandatory to perform in the show.
2.  All students, regardless of age, are expected to stay backstage
during the entire show while parents are asked to stay in the
audience.
